Tate and I are please to announce that we have one more small change on the horizon... We are pregnant! Baby Bean (that is what the Doctor called him/her and it has stuck) is due on July 20th, 2012. As eluded to in the previous post, we decided to let God grow our family however he sees fit and we are being overwhelmingly blessed. Halfway through our foster care classes we found out that we were expecting. We decided to finish out the classes and then wait to see what would happen. We are still waiting and to answer all the questions out there YES we are still planning to foster. We still feel that it is something that we have been called to and will be opening our license as planned to see what children God brings into our home. We would love to have an adoptive child as part of our lives before our biological child is born, but are also open just to being a foster parent to a child for a short period and helping that child for whatever time they are placed in our home.
We told immediate family around Thanksgiving, so we were able to tell Tate's side of the family when they were almost all together for Thanksgiving Day. Because it is our first, I have wanted to tell people in exciting ways. For my side, the grandparents-to-be got flowers wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving from their "favorite (only) grandchild". Signed with love from their FAVORITE Daughter and Son-in-law. :) For Tate's parents (and siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, etc) we gave them 30 red roses with 1 while rose in the middle. This child will be grandchild number 31 for Tate's parents, God willing.

I had high hopes of celebrating every week of Baby Bean's existence with something special dealing with how big he/she is that week. Needless to say, week 7 is the only one that has been celebrated this far. Baby Bean was the size of a blueberry so we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. :)
The proud Papa got his first present from Bean. In my perfect world this is how I was going to tell him he was going to be a Father, but procrastination and slow shipping meant that it was not here when we found out. Also, it was not a very happy night/morning in the Williams house when we found out so even if it was here, I don't think it would have been used...
The announcement to Tate's work would not have been possible without Sonya's creative magic. We came up with the idea, let her in on our secret, and she took it and ran. Everyone got it right away once they saw my shirt, and there was much rejoicing around the Global Orphan Project office. There was even more rejoicing when a few minutes later we all learned that another GO Project couple is pregnant and due the day before us!
Christmas was a very fun and exciting time. Immediate family knew and we started telling Grandparents. Baby Bean got his/her first ever stocking and is already getting spoiled. He/she is already starting a book/toy collection as well as some super cute gender neutral clothing.
Tate's 2nd present from Bean. The best children's bible we have found which is sure to get lots and lots of use around our house in the next few years.
11 weeks...
And 14 weeks! Officially into the 2nd trimester.
We are so excited to share this and appreciate you all keeping us in your thoughts and prayers as we begin this exciting new journey. It is going to be another year filled with firsts and as always around here, lots and lots of changes!
Yay, congrats Abby and Tate! You will make great parents! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Congratulations! I didn't even realize when I sent you the pattern - now you will really have little baby heads to knit for.
